Original Russian Gzhel Porcelain Creamer MALACHITE.
New. The item is approx. 5.5 inches high, 4 inches in diameter.
Second Sort.
Has the logo of the factory and the author on the bottom. Hand-made and hand-painted.
Gzhel is the name of the village 32 km from Moscow. This name is also applied to the beautiful artistic porcelain ware made there, painted with cobalt on a white background. The first written mention of Gzhel dates back to 1339, and from the 1770-80s, Gzhel had become the centre of artistic majolica manufacture in Russia.
