Original Russian Gzhel Porcelain Coffee Pot MALACHITE.. Coffe Pot 8 2/5 hich, 5 2/5 in diametr. Sort 2 Hand-made and hand-painted. Each item has the signs of two artists : the author of the idea and the artist. There is also the factory logo on the bottom. Gzhel is the name of the village 32 km from Moscow. This name is also applied to the beautiful artistic porcelain ware made there, painted with cobalt on a white background. The first written mention of Gzhel dates back to 1339, and from the 1770-80s, Gzhel had become the centre of artistic majolica manufacture in Russia.
