Original Russian Gzhel Porcelain CURLY Vegetable Serving Dish *Golden Rose*.
Hand-made and hand-painted. Cobalt with 22 K Gold paints.
Prime quality ( the first sort).
The bowl is 7 x 6 inches in diameter without handle, 3 inch high.
Has the logo of the factory and sign HAND MADE IN RUSSIA on the bottom.
Gzhel is the name of the village 32 km from Moscow. This name is also applied to the beautiful artistic porcelain ware made there, painted with cobalt on a white background. The first written mention of Gzhel dates back to 1339, and from the 1770-80s, Gzhel had become the center of artistic majolica manufacture in Russia.
