Original Russian Gzhel Pottery Easter Eggs Platter with saltcellar *Hen*.
Hand-made and hand-painted. Underglaze Cobalt.
The plate is 8.8 inch in diameter. The saltcellar is 2.9 inch in diameter, 3 inch high.
Each item has the factory logo at the bottom.

Gzhel is the name of the village 32 km from Moscow. This name is also applied to the beautiful artistic porcelain ware made there, painted with cobalt on a white background. The first written mention of Gzhel dates back to 1339, and from the 1770-80s, Gzhel had become the center of artistic majolica manufacture in Russia.
