Konakovo Factory was founded 1809 and belonged to Andrey Auerbach.
Konakovo is one of the most known faience productions in Russia, and has long history of artistic production.
For example, at 1829 and 1833 Konakovo factory was awarded the highest prizes at exhibitions held in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
In 1870 Matvey Kuznetsov, well - known owner of majority of Russian porcelain manufactures, purchased Konakovo factory as well.
At Soviet times, factory won the Grand Prix at Paris World Exhibition (1937), the Silver Medal at the Brussels Exhibition (1958), medals (1962, 1979) at International Ceramics Exhibitions, the Gold Medal at the Plovdiv Exhibition (1984).
And, till now, Konakovo faience factory remains one of the biggest producers of faience at Russia.
