Original Russian Lomonosov Porcelain Souvenir - Wine Carafe *FIREBIRD*.
Measures approx 8 4/5 x 6 x 8 inches.
This beautiful carafe is hand - painted in the traditional Russian style. Underglaze painting. 14 K real gold paints.
A red bird is the ancient Slav symbol of the Sun. It was believed to bring happiness.
Made by the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory.
Has the factory logo (LFZ) and the mark Hand-Decorated in Russia on the bottom. Sort 1. Prime quality. New.
The Lomonosov Porcelain factory (former Emperor porcelain factory) was founded in 1774. The items produced by the factory won Gold Medals in 1923 in Revel, in 1925 at Paris World Exhibition, in 1948 in Leiptzig, in 1958 in Brussels.
