The Lomonosov Porcelain factory (formerly the Emperor porcelain factory) was the first one in Russia. The Factory was founded in 1744. They use Gzhel clays and Olonetz quartz and alabaster. The items produced in this factory won Gold Medals in 1923 in Revel, in 1925 at Paris World Exhibition, in 1948 at Leipzig, in 1958 at Brussels.
