Original Russian Gzhel Pottery Open-work Candy Vase.

The bowl is 2.6 inch high, 6.1 inch high with handle; 6.5 " L, 6 " W. x 6 inch in diameter.

Has the factory logo and authors sign on the bottom.

Hand-made and hand-painted.

Underglaze Cobalt

Gzhel is the name of the village 32 km from Moscow. This name is also applied to the beautiful artistic porcelain ware made there, painted with cobalt on a white background. The first written mention of Gzhel dates back to 1339, and from the 1770-80s, Gzhel had become the centre of artistic majolica manufacture in Russia.
