Authentic Russian Enamel Pendants Set of 10 Saints.
Hand-made and hand-painted by the famous Russian Rostov Finift masters.
The frame made from Copper, covered by silver.
Each one is 0.7 x 0.6 inches.
Enamel is a type of glass imbued with paint.
Enamel, from the Latin *smaltum*, a synonym of finift.
Finift, from the Greek translated as a *shining stone*.
Enamel is one of the oldest forms of decorating metal. The process was known in Ancient Egypt and through Byzantium it was transmitted to Russia. The technique of enamel was known to have been employed in Kievan Rus way back in the 11th century.
